      FAQs about eSIMs

      What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a SIM card directly integrated into your device by the manufacturer. It does not need to be inserted into your smartphone and can be programmed remotely. The operation of the eSIM is identical to a physical SIM card. Only the installation of the user profile and the activation is slightly different.
      Which smartphones are eSIM compatible?

The list is constantly updated as more eSIM-compatible devices get released into the market.

Please ensure that your device is eSIM-compatible and carrier unlocked before purchasing. Note that country and carrier-specific restrictions may apply and that this list may not be complete.

Call *#06# (USSD Code - free of charge) to confirm if your device has an EID number. Devices with an EID number are eSIM-compatible. If you have an MEID number, please contact our support first before placing an order.

How do I activate my eSIM?
Once you have purchased your Travel eSIM, you need to scan your QR code on your compatible phone. The activation of the eSIM takes place immediately after the activation request if you are in Europe.

      • In "Settings" select "Cellular Data".
      • Select "Add a cellular package".
      • Scan the QR code and register the eSIM.

      • Go to "Settings" and then select "Connections".
      • Select "SIM card manager".
      • Select "Add a Mobile plan", then "Add via QR Code".
      • Scan the QR Code and register the eSIM.
      • Select "OK" at the end of the profile download.

Once your profile is downloaded to your phone, you will be able to access the Bouygues Telecom mobile network.

      Troubleshooting Steps

In the event that you encounter any network-related difficulties, please proceed by following the steps outlined below:

      • Enable Data Roaming
      • Set Network to Automatic
      • Choose 4G/LTE as Preferred Network Type
      • Deactivate other SIM Cards or eSIMs

Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our support team
How does the activation process work?
You buy the eSIM on the website and you will receive your QR Code by email.

Upon receipt of the email, you can download your eSIM profile to your phone by scanning the QR Code anywhere in the world. You will need to be connected to an internet network (WIFI or cellular). Your eSIM is ready.

When you arrive in Europe or if you are already in Europe, you just have to select it as your main SIM Card.
      Is the activation immediate?
Yes, your eSIM is activated immediately if you are in Europe. If you are abroad, your eSIM will be activated when you arrive in Europe.

You can therefore load and scan your QR code from anywhere in the world well before your arrival in Europe without your offer starting.
I am changing smartphones. Can I transfer my eSIM to my new phone?
You can transfer your profile from one phone to another.

      • Connect to the Internet via WiFi (transferring eSIMs without WiFi does not work)
      • Delete your eSIM profile from your first phone
      • Scan your QR Code from your 2nd phone (it may take a few minutes to download your eSIM profile again).

If you had personalized your PIN code, it will be reset by default

How do I delete my eSIM profile on my phone?
To delete your eSIM profile from your phone, you must erase your eSIM. Your phone must be connected to the WiFi.

      • Go to the settings
      • Select "Cellular Plans".
      • Then select on "Erase my cell phone plan"

      • Go to "Settings" and then select "Connections".
      • Select "SIM card manager".
      • Select the mobile plan you want to delete
      • Select "Delete".
      • Confirm your request by selecting "Reset".
My eSIM is blocked. How do I get my PUK code?
The eSIM works in the same way as a SIM card. You can find the PUK code in the email provided at the time of subscription.
What happens if my phone is stolen?
Similar to a physical SIM Card, you have to replace it with a new one.
What happens if I lose my QR Code?
You can continue to benefit from your eSIM, but you will not be able to request a new QR Code if you change or lose your phone.
Is there always a PIN code and a PUK code?
The PIN code is 0000. The eSIM works in the same way as the physical SIM: it has a PIN code and a specific PUK code in case the PIN code is blocked.
What is the advantage of offering multiple usages/eSIM downloads?
Today we are the only operator to offer multiple downloads. If you change your phone, you can put your eSIM profile on your new phone without having to request a new eSIM. - All you have to do is use the QR code that was sent to you.
What if I want to continue using my foreign number while in Europe?
You can continue to use your foreign number and offer freely while having the My European eSIM.

You will still be reachable, however your operator may charge you roaming fees for your calls, SMS and DATA usage.
Can I use the eSIM for the local data plan while still receiving calls on my SIM Card (or vice versa)
Yes, you can if your phone supports Dual SIM functionality!

Dual SIM allows you to have two active (e)SIM Cards and you choose which one should use cellular data and can send/receive messages. You will still be reachable however your operator may charge you roaming fees for your calls, SMS and DATA usage.

      • Setting > Cellular > Tap "Default Voice Line" > Chose your primary SIM Card for Calls
      • Setting > Cellular > Tap "Cellular Data" > Chose your primary SIM Card for Mobile Data
*The option is only available when both (e)SIM Cards are activated
      • Settings > Network & Internet (Wireless & Networks) > Tap "SIM Cards" ("Dual SIM Setting") > You can select your primary SIM Card for either Calls or Data
